He graduated in law at Padua in 1742. Try your career in the church but of course it does not suit his nature, then test the military, but later resigned. Matthew knows the patrician Bragadin, which keeps it like her son. His brilliant life but leads to suspicion, and so Casanova is forced to flee from Venice. Flees to Paris. After three years he returned to his hometown, but is accused of contempt for holy religion to an adventure with two nuns. Therefore is locked in lead, but October 31, 1756 managed to escape. This flight will make him extremely famous.

Released after a few days, continues his countless journeys take him to Switzerland, Holland, Germany, London, Spain, Russia and Prussia. In 1769 he returned to Italy, but must wait two years before receiving permission to return to Venice after an exile of nearly twenty years.
Casanova had a magnetic personality and charm and oratorical skills and intellectual superiors. Talent that makes the most of European courts dominated by an educated class but also fatuous and permissive.
Despite efforts to obtain accreditation as a writer, historian, philosopher and mathematician too, was not in life nor after his death, no fame and success.
The only success comes from his autobiographical work, written by him in French, published in a very post-death.
His works he wrote occasionally, during his detention and to get some benefit and please the Venetian government writing "History of the Government of Venice," for grace, during his stay in prison.
Casanova died June 4, 1798 in the remote castle of Dux.
